The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Cambodia is looking for Cambodian national to fill the position of Gender Officer in the STRONGER Project based in Preah Vihear; with occasionally travelling to Stung Treng province.

Major Responsibilities 

Communication and Coordination:

  • Work across the Specialists and local sub-contractor to ensure gender mainstreaming across all three streams
  • Assist the Assistant Project Manager on planning and budgeting and work with the Admin and Finance Assistant to ensure budget advance and clearance compliance for any events and activities
  • Coordinate, follow up with the partner, government, and community on administrative, invitation matters, and lettering in data collection, workshops, and meeting arrangements. budget clearance  


Project Planning/Project Design:

  • Engage and be involved in gender analysis and related assessments,
  • Support in project design, project annual planning, activity planning and implementation, including identification of gender risks and initiation of mitigation measures,
  • Develop a gender equality strategy, action plan, and
  • Support in gender equality capacity assessments, organizing GE training/orientation in response to staff’s needs.


Project Implementation:

  • Promote gender transformative approaches and best practices in the project,
  • Provide direct and ongoing technical support project manager, specialist and partners on the implementation of project activities and corresponding gender equality strategy, budgeting and reporting requirements.
  • Attend/lead regular project gender equality meetings both in-country and international.


Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Lead, engage, and involve in field-based monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of progress on gender equality results, identify area for improvement, compliance, review, and assist in drafting the project reports.
  • Involve data collection and ensure data quality assurance and compliance guideline
  • Prepare/collect/report on Gender Equality Strategy (GES) actions
  • Consolidate the GES report from output holders, specialists, and partners


Organizational Support:
Support ADRA Cambodia as an organization in the development of gender equality and policy and procedures; to ensure gender sensitivity and ethics and to emphasize ADRA Cambodia’s work in gender equality; Represent ADRA Cambodia and participate in project events such as project coordination committees, donor meetings, sectoral groups, etc., and participate in gender equality working groups and communities of practice.

 
Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least a BA/BSc in Social Sciences or related field of studies
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in supporting and implementing projects related to GBV, SRHR, health, community development, and nutrition
  • Gender Technical Expertise
  • demonstrated knowledge and skills in gender equality/transformative experiences in project design, management, monitoring, and reporting.
  • demonstrated skills and experience in providing capacity building, designing and delivering gender equality training related to SRHR, GBV, health, and nutrition
  • Proficiency in the English language
