This project will contribute to the success of the upcoming SHAPE 2.0 project, scheduled for implementation in January 2027.”

The Pro-Bridging Project’s main focus is on strengthening market linkages and value chains, improving the balance of power between producers and buyers, and promoting gender equality within Producer Groups (PGs). Key activities include:

  • Analyzing and strengthening market and value chains
  • Organizing forums to improve connectivity between producers and buyers
  • Supporting PGs through capacity building and small grants for climate-resilient agriculture
  • Developing a revolving fund model for the sale of collective products
  • Promoting gender-sensitive approaches and strengthening PG governance

The event featured remarks from Mr. Tim Pechsovann of the Provincial Department of Commerce, who expressed his gratitude to ADRA for their ongoing support to producer groups in Pursat. He emphasized the importance of small funds in supporting the community, particularly in the fruit and vegetable value chain sector.

“We are very pleased with ADRA’s ongoing support and look forward to learning from this new project,” said Mr. Pechsovann. “This partnership is an opportunity for local producers to exchange ideas and experiences, improving both our province and beyond.”

Participants from the Pro-Market’s Producer Groupss also shared their success stories. Mr. But Sambat, PG leader from Chey Chomnas, expressed his enthusiasm for the Bridging Project and its potential to strengthen the PGs. ADRA has several ongoing projects in Pursat. Currently, the Pro-Bridging Project is implementing a range of activities over two years to support 41 communities. These activities focus on strengthening the production chain, marketing, production techniques, and post-harvest storage—key factors in maintaining product value and market competitiveness.

Mrs. Chey Channy, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, highlighted the project’s role in supporting sustainable agriculture. “This initiative not only enhances market access for local producers but also promotes cost-saving practices such as compost production, which helps reduce input costs for both vegetable and rice farming. Additionally, the project fosters modern, community-based agricultural practices, ensuring long-term benefits for farmers and the local economy,” she stated.
