<\/strong>ADRA Cambodia is joining hands with the Provincial Departments of Women\u2019s Affairs in Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, and Stung Treng to promote this year\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day theme: \u201cFor ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Ensuring that women and girls can fully exercise their rights with equality is essential for a just and thriving society. True empowerment happens when individuals, communities, and institutions work together to create opportunities and remove barriers. The Cambodian government, alongside local and international NGOs, continues to promote gender equality and involve men as allies in this movement.<\/p>

To mark this important occasion, ADRA Cambodia\u2019s TOGETHER<\/strong> project team, in collaboration with local authorities, will host International Women\u2019s Day events<\/strong> in:
\ud83d\udccd Sandan district, Kampong Thom \u2013 March 6, 2025
\ud83d\udccd Kulen district, Preah Vihear \u2013 March 5, 2025
\ud83d\udccd Sesan and Siem Bok districts, Stung Treng \u2013 March 5 & 6, 2025<\/p>

These events, held in partnership with the Provincial Departments of Women\u2019s Affairs and local leaders, are expected to bring together 680 participants, including 390 women.<\/strong><\/p>

The focus will be on raising awareness about the challenges women and girls face due to societal norms and limited access to rights and opportunities. By promoting awareness and empowerment,<\/strong> we can take meaningful steps toward true equality.<\/p>

These events will also encourage community action to challenge harmful beliefs and practices that hinder progress. They will empower rights holders, service providers, and local leaders to work together toward a future where all women and girls can thrive.<\/p>

ADRA Cambodia is implementing the \u201cuniting TOwards Gender Equality for enjoyment of women\u2019s and girls\u2019 Total HEalth and Rights\u201d (TOGETHER) project thanks to generous funding from the Government of Canada. Supported by ADRA Canada, SickKids, and Salanga, this gender-transformative 6-year project will ensure that nearly 200,000 girls, women, boys, and men in Cambodia, Kenya, the Philippines, and Uganda are enabled to exercise their health-related human rights.<\/p>
