The Pro-Bridging Project, encompassing integrated activities within the SHAPE framework, is supported by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Australia and New Zealand and implemented by ADRA Cambodia. The project is designed to strengthen the achievements and ensure the sustainability of the ProMarket project as part of preparations for its integration into the SHAPE 2.0 program, scheduled for 2027–2032. The total budget of AUD 80,000 (USD 50,200) was funded to make this initiative possible. The Pro-Bridging Project will be implemented in Pursat Province, Cambodia, a one-year period, from January 1, 2025, to December 30, 2025.

The Pro-Bridging project is an extension of Pro-Market, a 5-year project previously funded by MFAT NZ; the “Pro-Bridging project” ensures traction and achievements of Pro-Market are sustained whilst awaiting SHAPE 2.0 on 1 January 2027. And to Market and value chain analyzed and strengthened, PGs strengthened, and Gender Promoted, The Project works alongside with 41 PG of old producer group from Pro-Market Project.

In collaboration with Provincial Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fishery (PDAFF) and Provincial Department of Commerce (PDC), the project will build capacity of 4 selected Producer Groups (PGs) out of a total of 41 identified groups, representing households within vulnerable farming communities. These PGs will be identified based on a detailed capacity analysis, which highlighted groups with weaker foundational skills in horticulture, limited governance structures, minimal market linkages, and lower adoption of climate-resilient practices. By prioritizing these groups, ADRA aims to provide targeted support to those most in need of capacity building and infrastructure development to enhance their production, income stability, and resilience as well as. Special emphasis will be placed on inclusivity within these groups, especially in empowering women members and promoting their active participation and leadership. This focus on gender equity will foster diverse representation, which is critical for building resilient and cohesive groups. Through this approach, ADRA anticipates that the benefits of strengthened PGs will extend beyond individual members, positively impacting their households and contributing to greater food security and economic stability across their community’s production for farmers in Pursat and beyond.
